An exhausted Salman Khan coming out of his Bandra residence to meet the media and fans yesterday
"Woh bechare ki kya haalat ho gayi hai (What a state that poor guy has cometo)," said a sympathetic Sanjay Dutt after emerging from Galaxy Apartments,
Bandra, with director-friend Mahesh Manjrekar at 1 am today. Sanjay was just one among scores of celebrities who thronged Salman's residence on the first floor of Galaxy Apartments late in the night to welcome the actor back home after his release on bail in the September 28 accident case.

When asked if he offered some words of solace to Salman, the man who himselfhad undergone much trauma in prison, said, "I offered him some words of advice and wished him well. After that, it's his destiny that will take care of him."
Manjrekar just said, "Salman is a very misunderstood person."

The overall sentiment among the celebrities leaving the Salman residence was that of relief. Socialite Aarti Surendranath, who visited Salman along with her industrialist husband Kailash, said, "Everybody is so relieved. After all the trauma the family has undergone, it is yet to sink in that Salman is back home."
When asked whether the party at the Khan residence was a happening one, Aarti said, "Party is not the right word to describe it. It is just that all his well-wishers are coming to greet him and his family."
When asked what food was being served, she said nobody was even thinking of eating, they were all just happy to be together. Actor Sanjay Kapoor said, "The Khans are delighted that their son is back home. There is so much happiness in the house."
Sajid Khan added, "We are happy to have him back."

Among those relieved to see Salman back was a heavily pregnant sister-in-law Malaika Arora-Khan, who seemed glad that the family's trauma has ended before her baby is due next month.

The compound of Galaxy Apartments was packed with big cars belonging to the big Bollywood stars. So much so that many of them had to eventually park their cars outside and walk to the gate, much to the delight of scores of fans who stood outside even till 1.30 am.
Salman himself was composed, occasionally coming to the balcony to wave to his fans. Later, he came downstairs to personally see off Shilpa Shetty and her mother, before breaking down on the shoulders of Sanjay Dutt while bidding goodbye.

An emotional Salman was locked in a hug with Sanjay for almost five minutes, before Sanjay left in a Mitsubishi Lancer.
